STEM

STEM is our summer education program, in which all of our members participate. Black Canyon Boys and Girls Club believes that growing our knowledge and gaining new skills shouldn’t stop just because summer is out. Our world needs more STEM Professionals and we have made it a priority to provide our Members with STEM experience and knowledge starting now. In our daily club routine, we spend roughly an hour every morning learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through hands-on activities. This program concludes with a STEM Fair at the end of the summer. Members in each grade level are broken into groups and work for up to two weeks designing, building and executing a project to present at the STEM Fair. Parents and community members are invited to show up and see what amazing things our members have learned. We have had working catapults, solar pizza ovens, animal habitat displays, and many more impressive projects!
