The Black Canyon Boys & Girls Club, Inc. (BCBGC) was founded on the Western Slope of Colorado in December 1999 in response to a lack of structured yet fun after-school and summer activities for youth in Montrose County Colorado. The first Club site was opened in the city of Montrose, while a second site was added in the town of Olathe in 2002. Since that time, the BCBGC has been at the forefront of youth development by providing programming that focuses on: social & emotional development, educational enhancement & leadership skills, and healthy lifestyles. In the fall of 2020, the Olathe site was shut down due to the inability to event fund raise, in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing restrictions, which greatly impacted the Club's budget. The BCBGC hopes to re-open in Olathe an on-site school program in the near future.
Working with young people from various backgrounds and circumstances, the BCBGC has actively sought to enrich the lives of all girls and boys within our community. We are dedicated to working in partnership with the parents, guardians, and all others that are concerned with the positive youth development process of the youth that we serve.
